Quilting your own quilt
Finishing your own quilt can be a great experience when using a longarm quilting machine.
We offer tuition and support throughout your DIY quilting experience.
The day starts with a lesson on the machine and how it works and lots of different stitching experiences on our calico 'quilt'. When you are happy with your stitching and patterns then we help you load your quilt top, batting and backing fabrics as 3 separate layers onto our machine.
Chose your thread here (we only use threads that work well on our machine -Superior King Tut range and Superior So Fine) and then you begin.
There is no pressure, you work at you own pace and we keep you topped up with tea or coffee. Everyone works at different rates so it is always difficult to assess how long it takes to finish a quilt but most people will finish their quilt in one session. However if you are doing a complex pattern and/or have time constraints it is possible to to finish your quilt over a number of sessions.
Below is our gallery and slideshow of some of our happy quilters and their quilts.
